7 Reasons Why People Succeed

By

Photo: meritword.com

Some people fail, and some people succeed. This is a fact of life. But why is it that some people seem to always hit their goals, while others work hard but can never quite get over the top? what is it that makes people successful?

There can be a lot of factors that can help to lead to success, and there are many paths to get to the top. However, there are some traits that successful people from a variety of fields always seem to possess. Here are 7 things that successful people seem to do different from those who can never quite make it.

They have the desire.

Motivational speaker Eric Thomas says, "If you want to be successful, you have to want it as bad as you want to breathe. Only then will you accomplish big things."
There are too many people out there who simply dream of success, but don't have what it takes to fully commit to achieving it. No matter what you want in life, you have to devote yourself fully to it in order to become successful. People who have already achieved great things know this, and devote themselves fully to what they do.

They have a plan.

Successful people know that it's not just enough to have the desire to do it, you have to also have a plan. Successful people don't let the day just happen, they happen to the day. They put together a plan and outline of what they need to do in order to move forward, prioritize their actions, and then carry it out.

The have a winning attitude.

If you're ever going to do big things, you have to be your own biggest cheerleader. Great people know that they need to find opportunity in every challenge, know they are capable of anything, and realize that no matter how daunting a task may be, success is always within reach. If you don't believe in yourself, nobody else will either.

They show enthusiasm.

Extraordinarily successful people almost always love what they do. Whether it's the competition, the ability to potentially change their niche, or just the love of building a business, the passion they show for what they do is often contagious. They not only love what they do, but they show the world this through their actions, and get others involved in the process.

They are continually learning.

The only thing constant in life, is change. The world is always changing and evolving, so people need to be able to adapt to those changes or get left behind. Successful people know they need to be on top of their game at all times, so self education is always a high priority for them.

They are efficient.

Successful people don't just work hard, they work hard AND smart. They know that certain actions they take are more important that others, so they either prioritize the order things get done, or they outsource the smaller less important tasks to free up their time to work on the big picture.

They give themselves time.

Nobody achieves greatness overnight. There are years of schooling and training to be the best at anything in this world. Successful people understand that great things take time, and they are willing to put in the work even if they aren't hitting their goals as fast as they'd like. They are willing to do this because they have faith in themselves, and faith in their plan.

The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People

 by:

Photo: pickthebrain.com

"The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People undertaking" was written by management specialist and former adviser to Bill Clinton, Stephen Covey.

This book presents seven principles which, if established as a habit and integrated into our lifestyle and our thinking, will help us achieve what we do and improve our effectiveness.
According to Covey, 7 habits correspond to the principles of "true north" that are universal and timeless. It also prides itself on not having invented these habits. Instead, he says simply having known the identfier and implemented a methodology on how they fit together.

What are these 7 habits that will help us achieve all that we undertake?

Private victory:

The first 3 habits to match a job to do on yourself to go from dependency to self.
Indeed, before thinking to improve its relations with others, he must already improved his relationship with oneself.

Habit 1: Be proactive

This habit is the ability to control his environment rather than letting it control us.

Habit 2: Be aware from the start where you want to go

This usually involves having a vision of what we wish to achieve and realize our lifetime and to deduce the directions given to it.

Habit 3: Give priority to priority
This is to establish and implement activities to achieve the targets set in previous habit. We must devote time to what is important and not what seems urgent.

The public victory:

The following three patterns correspond to a job to do at our relations in order to pass the state from independence to interdependence.
They can be successfully applied only once the first 3 habits assimilated.
Their implementation is nevertheless a condition that none sina to achieve all that we undertake.

Habit 4: Think Win / Win
He is always trying to find solutions that satisfy both parties involved to build strong relationships over the long term. It is the habit that it is better to focus patiently built a successful and sustainable small victories rather than immediate but ephemeral.

Habit 5 - Seek first to understand, then to be understood
Empathic listening is essential to truly understand a person, situation and open to his ideas.

Habit 6 - Take advantage of the synergy
This habit is to work creatively and is based on the principle that "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" working together to achieve a goal will therefore help to achieve more than individuals could do separately.

Renewal

Habit 7 - sharpen your faculties

It is the habit that encompasses all the others because it will allow their renewal and allow them to demonstrate and increase. It will thus be able to maintain our "capacity".

Steps Towards Becoming Successful in Life

 By

Photo: speedupyourlife.com

Becoming successful is a dream of everyone. From the street beggars to the hard working fellows, success is always on their mind. But you realize that most people who dream of success don't actually succeed. In most cases, it is not that they have not done enough, but rather they have followed the wrong path. Success can be as easy as looking at something or as hard as hitting a wall. In order to take an easy way out, here is what you should do.

Decide Where you are Going and When

Knowing your destination is the first step towards succeeding in life. It is important for you visualize your future, and bring it to the present. This not only inspires you to work towards your objective, but it also helps you to focus within your lines. If you don't know where you are going, it becomes hard for you to focus, one of the most important pillars of success. Furthermore, when you don't know your destination, you can take any offer, which can delay your quest to become successful.
In addition, you need to set timelines on when you intend to reach your destination. Setting timeframes helps you to focus on doing what is necessary at a particular time. Timeframes also help you to fast track the proceedings, failures challenges, and thus help you to adjust accordingly.

Highlight Reasons Why

In order to motivate your journey, it is important to know why you need to achieve your goals. The reasons behind your objectives will fuel you to pursue the journey even further. Therefore, you need to brainstorm different reasons as to why you would achieve your objectives; do not worry about the list, just list them. In fact, the longer the list, the better. Highlighting reasons helps your emotions to remain alert always as you embark on the actualization journey. Furthermore, it helps to overcome the stumbling blocks along the way, which sometimes can demoralize you.

Brainstorm and Take the Most Relevant Action

After highlighting the reasons why you need to achieve your goals, it is time to take action. It is through your actions that your vision is going to be actualized. No matter how big or small your vision is, your commitment towards achieving it is determined by the actions you take. Therefore, brainstorm through various actions available, and follow the one that makes sense to you. Do not follow the action that you do not understand, but rather something that you can believe.

If in any case you are not able to design your goals, list reasons to achieve it or the action you should take, you can always seek professional help. Success is worthy investing in credible professionals to help you. Do not guess on your future, or the path you should take. Where you have any shadow of doubt, always seek the expert's advice. This can be the difference between your success and failure in life.
Succeeding in life is simple, just three steps away. Identify your goals, list reasons why you would like to achieve those goals and finally design strategies to help you achieve those goals. Do not feel pressured, make it simple - where you are not able to do the above, just contact the professional.

Build Your Tech Skills: Mastering the Mindset of Success

By

Photo: fidelity.com

You Miss 100% of the Shots You Don't Take
How many opportunities are you missing out on because you're letting fear hold you back? What kind of life would you be living if you lived intentionally, and didn't let fear grab you and pin you down?

At a past Wellness seminar the instructor said something very telling... that the majority of our problems are not based within the realm of true reality, but within our own psyche and perception.
This is such a common phenomenon that there is a whole realm of psychology devoted to it: Cognitive Therapy, which addresses common patterns of distorted thinking -- patterns that can sabotage careers, relationships, and yes -- even Internet Marketing efforts!

Patterns such as "All or Nothing" thinking (if I don't get this promotion, I'll be stuck in this deadend job forever); Mental Filtering (singling out a bad experience at the exclusion of the neutral or positive ones that also happened, i.e., "How was your day at work?" is met with a tirade about the few negative things that happened during the day, with no mention of the good things that did); and Over generalization, where we draw conclusions from one lone incident and project that this will be the outcome on all future efforts.

Do some of these ring a bell with you? When trolling the Warrior Forum, you'll see many posts from people who seemingly need to change their mindset as much or more than they need to learn marketing tactics and/or web and technical skills. Between Bright Shiny Object Syndrome and self-defeating negative self-talk, many folks set themselves up for failure before they're even out the gate!

If you find yourself needing a confidence boost, there are many options out there for you. From joining a supportive membership site like Niche Affiliate Marketing System (NAMS), to developing your Mindset Mastery muscles, or learning the ropes of Affiliate Marketing Secrets and mindset with Connie Ragen Green, there are many resources that can help shore up your skills and boost your confidence without hype (or making you feel like you're the only one on the plant who doesn't get it!)
So don't let fear -- fear of failure, fear of looking look a doofus, fear of what other people think, fear of ANYTHING hold you back from your dreams. Much like Marley's Ghost in a Christmas Carol, you'll often find your ball and chain is of your own making -- but just like Dorothy, you have the power of Mindset to click your heels and take you beyond chasing rainbows and let your Internet Marketing career soar!

Remember that the right mindset is crucial in finding success online. You can learn more about the techniques needed to build your online business -- and improve your mindset and motivation -- at EbizMom.info, a site where moms connect in a safe, nurturing environment to learn about internet marketing and how to succeed online.

The Millionaire Mindset: How Self Made Millionaires Think

 By

Photo: in-montgomery.com

Do you dream of becoming rich someday, but are not sure how to go about it?

There is a myth that rich people are born with an innate talent to strive for excellence and think creatively, but it is all nonsense! Being a millionaire is not about having more than one million in your bank account. It is about the mindset which creates wealth for you. Similarly, it is the mindset (the wrong one) that prevents you from being a wealthy person. Think about it.. why is it when some people win a huge amount of money in a lottery, they go back to square one and become broke yet again within a couple of years? It is because they never learned the mindset of a millionaire. So, how much money you have right now does not determine you future financial status. Your future depends on your thinking; it's all about changing your psychological approach towards money, success and happiness.

When you think of the word 'millionaire' what image flashes in your mind? For many, it is a flashy type of a guy who lives an ultra-luxurious lifestyle, travels in a private jet, and so on. Surprisingly, typical millionaires are not the image that Hollywood and the media in general has created. Many modern-age millionaires work full-time, live in middle-class homes and shop in discount stores like common people. They are not driven by the material possessions that money can buy. What drives them is the power to make choices; it is about the 'freedom' to make any decision! For instance, being able to quit a job they dislike or sending their kid to a school of their choice.
The number of millionaires has almost doubled in the last decade! There are more and more people getting rich. Millionaires are turning into billionaires! Perhaps, a lot of people are living the good life, so why can't you? Anyone can become a millionaire, but it asks for The Millionaire Mindset: How self-made millionaires think, can help you get there too! Millionaires have more in common with each other than just their bank accounts, it is their mindset. Although, becoming a self-made millionaire is NOT easy, adapting their way of thinking can put you on the right track. Here's how-

1. Whatever You Think About, You Bring About

The beauty of being human is that you can reason and you can choose your thoughts. Thoughts become your actions and actions lead you to your reality. So if you're poor, that's YOUR choice. Maybe you think it's not possible to be a millionaire because you don't have the skillsets, capital, education etc. But most self-made millionaires didn't have any of these, either. Self-made millionaires want to have lots of money and earn it while doing what they enjoy doing the most! They think of multiple ways by which they can attract money.

2. The Universe Doesn't Give You Money

Don't make the mistake of expecting the universe to bestow riches upon you, if that would have been the case you would have been born rich! If you are not rich, it only means that wealth is something that you need to CREATE with creativity and hard work. The first step is of course, the mindset which breeds wealth. Self-made millionaires know that they MUST work harder than everyone else. They don't wait for luck. They make a strong plan on how they will make things happen and execute it. They take a huge 'calculated' risk (could be anything) and hence, reap rewards.

3. Chase Anything But The Money

The idea of being a self-made millionaire sounds great, but most millionaires believe that chasing money will take you nowhere. They all have chased 'something' in their lives and the money came along as a reward. What is it that you would do if you were already a millionaire right now? What are your talents? And are you skilled/educated enough to do your work excellently? Understand that money will always come as a fruit of your hard work. You must be productive and give results. For instance, walking in the hot sun is a LOT of hard work but won't make you a millionaire.

4. Stop Spending, Start Investing

If your goal is to make a million dollars and buy an expensive car, you won't be a millionaire for very long. Millionaires know the importance of investing instead of spending. They earn to save (and that's their habit) and not just to spend. They earn to keep and not blow their hard-earned money away by buying expensive items. They know the fact that money, if saved today, may serve a bigger purpose tomorrow. Moreover, self-made millionaires reinvest the money they make. And they further use it to create new opportunities to be more successful.

5. Strive for Success on a Daily Basis

Earning abundantly means you have loads of knowledge about your work, plus, a strong passion to learn new things and improve your skills. These traits are not something you practice once in a blue moon, they are meant to be a part of your daily routine. Self-made millionaires are passionate about learning and reaching new heights. Just like a child gets excited to learn something new in his/her favorite subject, YOU need to have that passion to excel no matter what gets in your way - emotional traumas, financial setbacks, or whatever.

6. Live Well Beneath Your Means

This is something that you must have read a hundred times, but this is THE golden rule. But why is it so? When you work hard enough to buy that Ferrari, you DESERVE it right? Well, that's for you to decide, but millionaires don't function that way. The reason behind this golden rule is - Gradually, a person starts spending more money than he/she earns. Thus, the real self-made millionaires don't spend more than they earn. As simple as that. As a matter of fact, as parents, they don't pay for everything. They give their kids a monthly allowance and that's it. Hence, they cultivate the 'smart spending' and 'saving' habit in themselves, as well as in their children.
As you can see from the list above, just wanting to be a millionaire is not enough. Self-made millionaires have a different mindset and most live a special lifestyle way before making all that money. By doing some of the things listed above, you too can put yourself on the right path to achieve more!

The Benefits of Good Observation Skills

 By

Photo: farm.pixosphere.com

As part of my training, one of my teachers had me spend an entire day doing nothing but observing from early morning to evening. I had to sit in a field all day long without moving my body -- he told me to just move my eyes very slowly from side to side.
What was I observing? What direction is the wind coming from? Does that cloud seem to contain any large amounts of moisture? Is it dark on the underside and light on top? If so, perhaps it's going to rain.
If you see birds flying, are they circling or going in a straight line? Are they water birds flying to where there might be some water? If you're looking for water, perhaps you should head in that direction.
There didn't have to be any particular significance to all the things I observed -- the point was not to let anything escape my awareness, to master the difference between looking and seeing.
When you see any kind of a movement, don't turn your head quickly, just move your eyes slowly to one side. If you turn your head too quickly the little animal or bird sitting on a tree limb is going to fly away. If you are motionless they feel that you are not harmful -- they accept you and come in close.
I discovered that the peripheral part of your viewing space can catch movement more readily than looking straight ahead. You also listen for the sounds of the area. Did you hear a cow? Did it have a bell, was it lowing? Did you hear a horse snort? If you can register in your mind all the sounds common to your area, you can immediately pick up on anything unusual.
You can also apply these observation skills in the city, where it may be even more important to stay alert. As you walk down the street, observe from one corner to the other side of the street. Is it safe? Are there any people or situations which look dangerous to you? Being aware of everything going on around you can save your life.
I went out to the field on my own many times because I felt I had missed things and wasn't satisfied with my own performance. My teacher didn't tell me to go back out -- he started me off but then I continued on my own every so often.
I used to go to the zoo and stare at the tigers. A tiger would look at me and I'd look back at him. I don't know how long I'd stand there, but I was determined not to look away first -- I kept looking until the tiger finally looked away. I guess the barrier between us gave me some kind of confidence but at the same time I felt I was making eye contact with a hostile animal -- he represented that to me. From there I'd go to a lion and do the same thing. I had a lot of fun doing that and no one could tell what I was doing, it just looked like I was standing there watching the animals.
Eventually I gave the tiger commands, not verbally, but in my mind. I would project the thought, "Turn away. Turn away right now. Turn." He was very stubborn but he would eventually turn and I kept doing it until the time it took him to turn away got shorter and shorter. I got training in using the power of my mind just like that. I did this on my own in my late twenties -- neither Dave nor Daniel suggested it.
We can apply observation to almost any walk of life. I used to teach salesmanship to handicapped people at Goodwill Industries. I would give them an orange and ask them to describe it to me and invariably all they would say was that it was orange in color and round.
"What else can you see on it?"
"That's about all."
"Your observation is very limited. You can tell where it had hung to a stem on the limb. You can even see the pores on the skin and certain streaks and discolorations. Learn to observe. What do you know about your product? What size is it? How heavy is it? What does it do? What is it's capacity?"
They thought they had seen all they could and yet as they kept trying they could come up with more. As time went on they were able to do a lot more selling and what helped me teach them was not going to a school for salesmanship. I learned just by observing out there in the country in Oklahoma and I taught them to do it, too.
If you don't think observation is all that hard, try to sit still for 20 minutes. If your nose itches, don't scratch it. If your leg cramps, don't stretch it. These are some of the things you have to contend with in observation. It's a far-reaching training that enables you to take in a whole situation in seconds.
After college I went into the army where I taught hand to hand combat -- how to maim a person, killing blows, how to disarm a person coming at you with a gun or knife. It was a fight for survival, a fight to kill.
All in all, I didn't feel too good about some of the things I had to teach, but when I made the vow to protect our country at all costs, it included that. Maybe with a gun it might have been different -- you're distanced from your victim -- but hand to hand didn't set too well with me so, even though I was good at it, I tried to find other ways to fit in.
Eventually I had the opportunity to apply for Intelligence and I went through a battery of tests until it was narrowed down to five of us. For our last test we were to have an interview with the General. We all sat in the outer office waiting for our turn to go in one by one. I was next to the last to go in.
"Tell me how many pieces of furniture in the outer office."
I told him right away.
"Where was the desk?"
I told him, as well as where the chair was.
"Anything on the desk other than paperwork?"
"Yes, there were some dried up dandelions in the pot on the right hand corner."
"Was there anything on the walls?"
"Yes, two pictures. One was of Washington and it needed straightening up, Sir."
"O.K. Next one."
That was our test -- whether we observed anything out there. I was the only one of that five to be chosen.
That is one of the great teachings I received from my training back in Oklahoma, being taught by a man that I don't believe went beyond seventh grade in school. He said, "It's one thing to live a long time -- it's another thing to learn something in that space of time. You've been given the gift of life -- don't just become an old man, learn something."

What's the Price of Success?

By

Photo: harmonyinandout.com

One energy principle for success that's not often talked about is the principle of sacrifice. That sounds terrible doesn't it? Just the word sacrifice can create resistance and it doesn't sound very positive does it? What this really means is that to receive what you want then you must be willing to put in the energy. In other words, you have to be willing to give up something in return for what you want. Let's take an Olympic athlete. If they want to win a medal and be the best what do they have to do? They have to train like an Olympic athlete. That means not just train when they feel like it, or train like anyone else. If they want to be the best in the world that's the effort they have to put in - more than anyone else, right?
They not only have to train extensively, but there are certain things they may have to give up. For example, to maintain the body of an Olympic athlete, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to go out partying with friends every Friday night. They have to give up any idea of failure. They have to make their training and fitness regime their priority.
So how do you apply this? Well, let's take the example of being in debt again - just because it's something that comes up so frequently these days. If you are in debt, and you start changing how you see debt and how you feel about it, and you forgive yourself for getting into debt and for the struggles you've had and for not knowing what you didn't know, you'll open yourself up to solutions. You may be introduced to a financial planner or a financial book or something that can help you come up with a specific plan that will get you back on track. And in order to get back on track quickly, you must be willing to sacrifice something. Perhaps you have to give up your daily coffee at Starbucks, or the need to buy a new pair of shoes every month. Perhaps you decide to sell some items to help you generate some money to put towards the debt. Perhaps you take on an extra job.
In other words, the debt is not just going to miraculously vanish just because you've set the intention to be debt-free. You'll have to DO something or go without something for a while. And then, once the debt is clear and you feel you are back on track then you will want to maintain that, so you'll have to make sure that you sacrifice the way you have dealt with money in the past so that you can appreciate and grow and build your financial future now.
It's a necessary part of growth and a necessary part of success. To get what you want, you may have to release something. It's also important to know that if you are holding on too tightly to what you already have, you will never get what you want if you are holding on so tightly. You have to let go so that what you want can come to you.
This is the principle of sacrifice - what are you willing to put in or give up in order to have what you want?

How to Stay Positive When You're Surrounded by Negativity

By

Photo: i115.photobucket.com

If someone were to ask you, you would probably say that you were a pretty happy person. You try to keep a positive frame of mind and stay upbeat. It can be difficult, though, to maintain a positive mindset when you find yourself surrounded by negativity.
Here are a few ways you can help keep your positive attitude whenever you look around and find that everyone else is being negative.
It's nothing personal.
People can often get into the bad habit of talking negatively. It can be aimed directly at you or simply be about a myriad of other things that are going on in that person's life. It's hard to face an onslaught of negativity, especially when you are the target of it. But remember, that this is their issue, not yours. If their criticism is unfounded, you can be sure that the complaints are probably just a way for the person to vent. Take a breath, put on a smile and tell yourself, "It's not me, it's them."
Be the bigger person.
It's not fun being around a negative person. But just imagine how miserable it must be to be the negative person. They are full of sour emotions and see themselves as the victim of life. They are probably scared and hurting in some way. Anger is one way that many people hide their troubles away from others. Try to be compassionate and give them the benefit of the doubt.
Bring them a little positivity.
What can you do to help turn their day around? It could be something small, like acknowledging a recent accomplishment. Bring them a snack from the vending machine. Even simply asking them how they are doing can help them to open up a little and get things off their chest. Do what you think would cheer you up on an off day. If you are met with an even bigger wave of negativity, just walk away. You know that you tried, and you can't win them all!
Remember: you get to choose the people in your life!
We are not physically attached to every person we deal with day in and day out. It is okay to cut out anyone who brings absolutely no positive value to your life. Friends, family, coworkers, spouses- if they just don't want to be a part of your positive lifestyle, then it's okay to limit contact with them or do away with the relationship altogether. There is a whole world of people out there who can make you smile, so don't waste your happiness on those who don't want to share it.
What do you do to stay positive every day? Have you had to make some tough decisions about who stays and who goes? Let us know!

My Road to Inner Success

By

Photo: learnfitness.com

In western culture (and increasingly it seems, eastern culture, too) the idea of being a "success" is rather narrowly defined. Typically, we claim that someone is successful if they've climbed the ladder of whatever profession they might in - whether that's sales, entertainment, healthcare, sports, politics or anything else. Or we might call someone successful if they've achieved a certain social standing or popularity.
I'm not here to suggest that these examples above aren't indications of a certain kind of success. However, I am here to boldly state that the common notion of success is really...well, it's unsuccessful. Let me explain.
When we view success only as an outward phenomenon - something that matters to other people, or that matters to a social circle - we deny the other aspect of life that is just as important: our inner world. And by "inner world," I don't mean something mystical or new age. I mean the world of personal peace, of being grounded, or being in touch with your body, and of course, of living a stress-free life. These elements are just as important as any other, outward manifestation of success.
In fact, it's arguable that at times success in the inner world is more important than success anywhere else, because if you aren't happy, peaceful and healthy, how can you even enjoy the outer success in the first place?
Frankly, that's the situation that I found myself in not all that long ago. I was in sales for over 25 years, with the last 9+ years as a sales manager for a Fortune 500 company. On average, I had 10-14 sales representatives reporting to me. It was an EXTREMELY busy time, and yes, it was also financially rewarding. On the outside, I was successful.
But on the inside, I was kind of a wreck. Work was eating up all of my time and energy, and the physical and mental toll was becoming too heavy to bear. Of course, I was "stuck" in my outward success and couldn't slow down - and so I started a pattern of working 12-hour days and sleeping 10-12 hours a night. Weekends passed as a blur of grocery shopping, laundry, napping and trying to catch up with work. I was stressed out to the MAX and ready to break apart.
Again, the point I'm trying to make here is that although I was still successful "on the outside," I was simply not succeeding on the inside - in my own personal world. And to make things even more challenging, I was diagnosed with a stress-induced disorder called fibromyalgia, and was almost certainly headed for even more health problems.
That's when I realized that if I didn't DO SOMETHING and break out of my cycle, I was probably going to collapse - and then both my outer success and inner success would be - to put it mildly - very, very unsuccessful. I didn't want to get to that point where I fell to the floor (maybe even literally) and didn't have the stamina or the motivation to get back up.
Somehow, I found the strength (maybe it was the last bit that I had left to use), took some time off from work, and made some tough decisions. I eliminated everything that stressed me out -- including several friends who were triggering stressful reactions within me, or who were what I call "stress enablers." It was hard to do this, but we're talking self-preservation here. It had to be done.
I read all the stress-related books and articles I could get my hands on, and took classes and seminars in lots of stress management modalities. I won't say that this experience was totally useless - there were kernels of wisdom and insight here and there - but it really didn't re-ignite my inner flame. That only happened when I hired a Life Coach, who helped me apply what I had learned to my own life. It took awhile but I finally started to feel better. And eventually, I experienced a feeling of joy that I had not felt in a very long time.
I put together what I learned from my illness and from my research, and today I am committed to maintaining an ongoing balance in my life. Now my personal mission is to help women avoid the stress and suffering that will make them sick, and empower them to live happier and more successful lives.
And yes, when I say "successful," you know that I mean INNER AND OUTER SUCCESS. Because in the truest sense, as I personally experienced, you either have both...or neither.

Setting A Goal Allows Talents To Flourish

By:

Photo: amplifyleadership.com

Fulfilling individual potential is something that really ought to be a pre-requisite for each and everyone of us, but sadly there is a huge proportion of the population who fail to accomplish it, sometimes through no fault of their own, but very often through a lack of application and an acceptance of under-achievement. However, it is never too late to turn things around, and it is certainly possible to learn to influence actions, emotions, thought processes, and general social interactions, within the private life, career, finances etc., by acknowledging a need for on-going personal development.

Improving self-awareness, will help to develop individual talents and often release a side of yourself, which perhaps you did not fully appreciate previously. To begin with, all that is required is the simple process of setting a goal, or two. These need not be too excessive to begin with, but as each goal is attained, the level of required commitment should increase, and in every case the necessity should be for the complete focus on the matter in hand.

In many ways, it is an acceptance of a need to build an fresh identity, which counters any negativity that exists in your current make up. Concentrate on developing known weaknesses, by using existing strengths and talents to bring about a change in character for the better. It is incredibly satisfying, and can quickly improve the quality of lifestyle that an individual enjoys, as very often health improves too. Learning new methods can be very rewarding, as different techniques and approaches help to broaden outlooks, as we see things from alternative angles, allowing less rigid opinions and basically making ourselves more understanding people.

Setting a goal, may be for your own improvement, or it could also be for the betterment of others too. Perhaps, acting as a mentor, or coach of some sort, will allow you to explore your own abilities and very probably enhance them at the same time. It is important that a time framework is attached to these goals to actually ensure that a genuine change has occurred. Naturally the individual themselves can be the principal judge of this, as after all, it is their own personal development, but a second, or even third opinion, is always welcome. Create a strategy, agree on a standard criteria, and possibly insert some benchmarks and milestones along the way, but ensure that the paths of the goals have some definite end-points.

Personal Development is wonderful opportunity, that really should be practised by all. A structured plan can pay huge dividends, and can genuinely become life changing. There should be no reason why ambitions are not realised, it just needs some focus and dedication to the cause. Setting a goal is the first step towards having a clear picture of the direction your life needs to be heading in, to bring about the successes you have craved and ultimately deserve. Confidence will increase rapidly, as all the suppressed skills and attributes quickly surface, and suddenly it is like being a completely different person.

The Power Of Visualization

By:

Photo: qualified-lifecoach.com

Did you ever imagine that success could be in your grasp? That you have the power to make success come to you? You have the strength and the ability within yourself to make your dreams come true. Using the power of visualization and the law of attraction, you can take control of your life.

The secret is to focus on all of the positive energy that exists in the universe and harness it for your use. Even if times have been hard, it is possible to believe that better times are within your means. Dont concentrate on the negative, the hate, and the worry that your so-called normal life brings you. Visualize goodness, prosperity, and peace. Take responsibility for your life. Use techniques like these to master the art of visualization.

Be True to Yourself. Take the time to decide what you really want in life. Look beyond riches, expensive homes, and other material things. Visualize who you want to be and how you can help others. Think about what you truly want to do and who you want to be.

Relax. To clear your mind you have to let yourself go. Stretch out in a comfortable place and engage in a relaxation discussion. Starting with your head, work downward, relaxing each part of your body until you reach your toes. Go slow; dont move on until you believe that part is relaxed. You will be more open to the universe when you are fully relaxed.

Visualize. With your body and mind open to the universe, you can start thinking about what you want. Put yourself into the situation and imagine that you are there. If you want to find a new love, visualize yourself opening up to a new relationship. Imagine all the details; where do you meet? What do you talk about? How do you feel? Do your best to make it real. Imagine where you are, and what the surroundings look like. Smell the flowers. Hear the music playing from the radio nearby. Enjoy the feeling of getting what you want and need.

Reach for More. The idea behind visualization is if you can imagine it, you can do it. The person that you imagine in your visualization does exist! Reach past normalcy and become the person that you have visualized. Let yourself go and allow the positive energy that you have created within yourself to surround you. Use that power to make your dreams come true.

You Have the Power. The force of positive energy is strong. Channel the energy that you gain from visualization to help you meet reach goals. Success is out there go get it!

Are You An Invisible Woman?

By: John Robson1

Photo: 4.bp.blogspot.com

Many women are trapped in a behavior pattern which is guaranteed to generate a life that is joyless and filled with stress. This pattern is so insidious that most women are completely unaware of how it is subtly generating an experience of life that is deeply unfulfilling.

I have named this pattern The Invisible Woman. See if this set of behaviors describes you:

You have a vague sense of dissatisfaction in all your relationships.
You have trouble identifying your feelings and needs. (If you said, What feelings and needs? then this is you for sure!)
Typically, you dont consider or make time for your own needs. When you do identify a feeling or need, you suppress it and tell yourself, My needs dont matter or Their needs matter more.
You focus your attention on the needs of others, making sure the people around you have their needs met. Often you know what they need almost before they do. This encourages an unhealthy dependency in others. For our children it models a way of relating that perpetuates the invisibility syndrome in the next generation.
You say yes when people ask you to do something without checking to see if you actually want to do it, and can make the time to do it, without some other commitment suffering.

I know this set of behaviors only too well, because I once suffered from invisible woman syndrome myself. I suspect most of us have, because our culture actually promotes this syndrome through movies, television shows and books as the appropriate way of being a woman. Likely, you saw this pattern modeled in your home when you were an impressionable child. At times, women who have had the audacity to make their feelings and needs known have suffered severe repercussions. So it is no wonder that most of us have adopted this way of being.

When we focus all of our attention on others, we lose the sense of who we are. Unconsciously feeling this emptiness, we give more and more, trying to get the nurturing we give so generously to others returned to us. We end up feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, and confused as to why when we give so much we receive so little.

Its not surprising, then, that this pattern can bring on feelings of martyrdom and a deep sense of resentment toward those we love. We may turn to using guilt to force our loved ones to meet our needs. These conflicting feelings of love, resentment and guilt destroy the fabric of our relationships and leave us feeling isolated and unfulfilled.

Yet we cant expect others to meet our needs if we dont tell them what they are. Because the invisible woman projects an image to others of being completely capable and self-sufficient, her loved ones may be unaware of her needs. Unwilling to feel the guilt, they may distance themselves from her, moving the intimacy she longs for even further out of her reach. In the worst examples, she may end up with deep feelings of depression and meaninglessness.

The good news is that we can teach ourselves a new way of being. We can learn new skills that will allow us to nurture and care for ourselves. We can use our awareness and keen sensitivity to recognize our feelings and needs and to make new choices.

What can you do if you have discovered you are operating in the Invisible Woman pattern? Read the following list of guidelines for being a healthy, happy adult woman. Watch your reaction to each item and notice any objections that come up as you read. This will allow you to see how your own sense of invisibility is structured. As you become aware of how you formed this pattern you can begin to dismantle it.

A healthy, happy adult woman:

Spends time daily in self-reflection so she is aware of her feelings and needs.
Spends time daily connecting to her spiritual source and receiving spiritual sustenance.
Knows that meeting her own needs is not selfish. The more we meet our own needs, the better we will be able to truly support others.
Respects both herself and the abilities of others to look after themselves. This includes our children, in age-appropriate ways. (There are many great books and Internet resources on child development if you need more information.)
Develops the willingness and the skill to ask in a direct and gracious way for support from others when she needs it. This allows others the pleasure of giving to her.
Keeps her to do list reasonable and manageable by prioritizing urgent and important matters and allowing the rest to be done as time allows. She knows that making time for self-reflection and self-nurturing is an urgent and important item.
Revises her definition of perfection so that her expectations of self and others are reasonable and joy-filled.

When we attend to self care, clear communication and a willingness to receive as well as give, we are powerful role models for others.
Use this list to begin to observe yourself living your life. Notice that when you follow these guidelines, life is much more enjoyable and fulfilling. Notice that when you fall back into old patterns the results are often unwanted. Make a commitment to experiencing your authentic self, and sharing that self with others. You will be glad you did!

How To Be Successful In Life - Little Hinges Swing Big Doors!

By

Photo: roomforhorse.com

How to be successful in life is a common question many people ask through out their lives.
If you are someone who is trying to find the key to being successful. Then read this entire article a couple of times and be sure and take notes. Then start applying the tips and strategies and you can start to see some amazing results for yourself.
You would be surprised to know that getting the results you want can start to happen by making little adjustments every day in what you are doing now. Because the right little adjustments add up to the positive change and results that you are looking for in life.
Little hinges swing big doors.
For Example:
If after I was hit by a drunk driver in 1995, I just continued those same old habits I had been doing prior to the accident. I would still be where I was back then in my life and getting the same results I was getting back then. Which is not the kind of results I wanted in my life.
I wanted to have a better job, better relationships with the people in my life, and freedom to do the things I love to do. Does any of this sound familiar to you?
Well after the accident I was suffering from severe whiplash. Because of my injuries I lost my job. I was a single parent taking care of my 5 year-old-son. After several months of being in constant on going pain and totally broke. We almost lost everything we owned.
I thought to myself in the prime of my life this is not where I wanted to be. I was so mad at myself because I never went after my dreams. I wanted to record the songs I wrote and become a country recording artist.
I could have stayed in that state and become a victim but I was determined that my life was not going to continue like this. It was then I decided to make a positive difference.
It was only when I started learning to make positive changes in my life by reading books and listening to CDs, watching DVDs or attending seminars on the success habits of successful people. Then I started to apply those success habit in my life. That is when I started to see positive results and my life started to change for the good.
I must say that earlier in my life I was never taught success habits. Even when I became aware of them I never thought I had the time to learn these important life changing strategies.
I found that most people were in the same boat with this same mindset. Because after all we are busy from the time we get up in the morning till the time we go to bed right? Does this all sound familiar to you?
I was determined to make a positive change in my life even if it was just a small change. Because I was not going to continue living my life this way.
The small change that I made for myself was every day I would take time to start reading positive learning material at least one half hour when I woke up in the morning and also read for one half hour before I would go to bed at night.
Also I would use my driving time running around doing errands as my time to learn by listening to CDs.
Before I knew it I had read an entire book or listened to an entire CD series on personal self-development and I was learning about believing in myself, how to set goals, positive attitude, networking etc...
Then I started applying what I learned into my life and keeping specific philosophies that were working to bring me success in my life.
It helped me to reach my goal with my music. It showed me what can happen when you believe in yourself and follow your dreams. Now my life has changed for the better all from making some positive changes to my life.
These philosophies that I learned are not hard to learn or follow. You do not have to be a rocket scientist to understand them or apply them. The important thing is these small things add up to big results!
By learning success habits you change your mindset to one that is positive and helps to get you results.
All I know is my life is so much better because I took the time to invest in myself and learn simple time-tested success habits and how to apply them in your every day life.
It is doing the little things on a daily basis that make a big difference in your life. Remember that little hinges swing big doors.
It is learning success habits and then start applying them in your every day life that will help you get the right results. Then little by little you can start to make a big difference to improve your life financially, have better relationships, improve your health or gain the freedom to do the things you love.

How To Learn From Failures In 3 Simple Steps

By: Michael Lee

Photo: fastcache.gawkerassets.com

Want to know how to learn from failures? Your journey starts this second. The fact that youre reading this article is proof that youre prepared to take on the challenges that you might not want to face.

It takes courage for people to realize that they need help on how to learn from failures. And you, my dear friend, have that. Learn from your mistakes and move on with your life starting with these steps.

Step 1: Humility Helps.

A little bit of humility goes a long way. You know you did something wrong; and while you might be feeling a bit defensive, you had best keep your emotions in check.

Accept that your plans didnt go as well as you would have wanted and apologize to those who warrant your apology.

Humility is the first step to mending broken ties and relationships. Ignore other people who are talking about you behind your back.

Who you were before, or whatever your status might have been - those are no longer significant. This is not the time for you to start another war, but the time for you to reflect on what you have done.

Step 2: Observe And Report.

By now, the ruckus should have died down a little. If you want to learn from failures, then you need to stay quiet and start listening to other people for once. Watch how your peers and colleagues are handling matters.

You might not have noticed these things before; but now that youre given the chance to observe them, you might be able to pick up a thing or two. This is your chance to learn how you can help straighten things out.

Step 3: Make Things Right.

If you want to know how to learn from failures, then youll have to do a bit of dirty work. Its not the most pleasant task to do, especially if its your mess youre cleaning up; but making things right is extremely crucial to your redemption.

If youre not yet certain of what you can do, ask. You dont have to come up with the one solution that will take care of everything, but you can start by helping out in little ways.

Getting coffee for those who are doing the brunt of the work, for example, is one way you can make amends.

Knowing how to learn from your failures is very important. This is the only way you can grow as a person. Whether its your career or your personal relationship on the line, you must still learn from your experiences.

Life Is Not Like A Novel

 By: Roseanna Leaton

Photo: media.salon.com

Life is not like a novel. There is never real closure. Yet closure is frequently what we seek. We like to have things come to a logical conclusion, to get things tucked into bed. Life is more cyclical than it is linear. As one door closes, another opens.

Thus where a novel will usually have a clear beginning and an end there is in fact no real conclusion or end in life. Life goes on in so very many ways. A conclusion in life is only arrived at when one decides that they have reached their closure. It is ones own interpretation of events that allows closure and each person can have a very different viewpoint.

In one moment we can be in the present and yet our thoughts can also be in the past and in the future. We can in our minds be in many different times and places all at the one time. Our emotions also travel through time and space and we can experience great emotional impact through recall, imagination and visualization.

If you are looking for closure you will only find it from within your own mind. Events and life around you are constantly moving and changing, and if you wish to keep up then you too have to move from one moment to the next. Closure comes from developing the ability to let things go, to leave selected past events and their emotional impact in the past, instead of bringing them forward into the present.

But our minds are designed to retain information automatically, and the more emotionally charged anything is, the better it is retained within ones subconscious mind. Thus the more something upsets you the better you remember and recall it.

This is a very useful trait when the upset caused relates to dangers that might occur again. If you have encountered a rattle snake in rough ground near your home then it's pretty useful to retain the memory that rattle snakes have made that area their habitat and respect that fact.

But if you constantly retain a memory of being hurt in a relationship and apply a fear of getting hurt to every subsequent possible partner, then this trait is not always very helpful. In this type of case one benefits from letting go of the past and moving on with less negative emotional expectations.

I could provide many examples here of situations where ones ability to recall upset or fear gets in the way of present happiness and success. This can happen in both small and big ways. It even happens on the golf course, where you recall hitting out of bounds on a particular hole and you stand there next time round unintentionally feeling that fear.

When your instinctive memories and recall are getting in the way of your present you can decide to take control of them and attain closure in your own mind and emotions. Hypnosis is very helpful in this task as it allows you to access your subconscious mind.

This is the part of your mind where these types of memories and associated emotional reactions are stored. In hypnosis you can easily desensitize your emotional response and learn to focus clearly upon the present moment, without dragging unnecessary upset and fears into the present.

10 Ways to Let Go of Regret

 By

Photo: spiritcoachtraining.com

Why Focus on Regret? Regret is a feeling of distress and grief as you bring awareness to something that you wish you did differently. Because regret can be a major loss in your life it's important to focus on how you reacted to it and consequences of it. Typically, regrets can happen in your personal life, environment, possessions, workplace and relationships.
Personal Life. You can regret that you did not take better care of yourself when you were young, ate a poor diet or got a preventable disease. Regrets can also pertain to broken dreams such as a miscarriage or adoption.
Environment. You can regret accepting a job where you have to deal with traffic congestion or that you purchased a home in a flood area. Perhaps you moved from another country and lost your cultural identity. You can be unhappy that you got married young or moved into a nursing home as you aged.
Possessions. Maybe you regret buying your car, not buying your dream home or buying a home you couldn't afford. You may have too many possessions and have become a hoarder. Perhaps you feel distress because you didn't save for retirement.
Workplace. It could be you are disappointed you didn't get proper job training. Perhaps you regret that you did nothing to stop the school or workplace bully. You may regret that you retired too early.
Relationships. Perhaps you alienated a friend, broke up with someone or divorced. You might be thinking about not being closer to your grandchildren. You may feel regret due to a loved one's heart attack or that you didn't take better care of a pet. You can regret not being honest with your physician. Distressing events such as hospital errors, domestic violence, car accidents, falls, injuries, homicide and suicide can cause remorse.
Palette of Grief® Reactions Caused by Regrets
The Palette of Grief® includes emotional, cognitive, behavioral, physical and spiritual reaction caused by loss. Being that regret is considered a loss, some of the emotional reactions may include anger, shame, guilt, anxiety and blame.
Cognitively, you might feel confused, frustrated, and dwell on one negative detail instead of the whole picture. You could be indecisive and have difficulty making plans. With a pessimistic, negative attitude, all-or-nothing thinking or exaggerated thinking you may speculate about what you should have done differently. With an impaired self-esteem you might believe that you did something wrong. Unwanted memories may possibly make you feel worthless, disgusted and helpless.
Behaviorally, you might compulsively exercise or gamble. You may become intolerant of others, work too much, become a perfectionist and consider yourself a failure.
Physically, you could feel restless, exhausted or fatigued. Regrets could wreak havoc on your body causing you to grind your teeth, have muscle tension or a peptic ulcer. You may refuse to talk, drink too much alcohol and become self-destructive.
Spiritually you possibly may abandon your faith, feel judged and be angry at God. You may feel empty, have lost your life's purpose, feel apathetic and hopeless.
Self-Soothing Strategies
It's no secret that it takes 21 straight days to create a habit. So, focus on self-soothing thoughtful activities that will minimize regret for 21 days in a row. If you reframe your thinking, at the end of that timeframe regret can become contentment. Here are 10 ways to let go of regret:
  1. Rather than avoiding your feelings, be a flexible thinker and brainstorm choices to cope with them.
  2. Be open-minded as you retrieve regret from your brain and reorganize your thoughts about it.
  3. Recognize whether you are focusing on actions you did but wish you didn't or actions you didn't do but wish you did.
  4. As you problem solve, write down assumptions about the regret and focus on whether or not these beliefs are correct.
  5. Keep a check on thinking patterns for inaccurate and twisted perceptions of the facts.
  6. Pay attention to your perception of how much control you believe you have over what happened.
  7. Be tolerant of mistakes you believe you made as you let go of negativity and create positive self-talk.
  8. As you take a walk or do something relaxing, think about regret with a positive attitude.
  9. Challenge irrational thoughts with reality by creating a list of things you could have done differently based on what you knew at the time or what you know now.
  10. Talk about your regret with a friend or family member or utilize professional resources.
Future decisions will be based on past regrets. Living with regret is not useless as it teaches you that the choices you make have consequences. There is a connection between regret and positive growth. Appreciate life, identify your blessings and remain grateful for the ability to let go of regret. The key point is that you can find meaning in what the regret has taught you about your inner strength and resilience.
Milne wrote Winnie the Pooh and within the story Christopher Robin echoes the importance of a positive attitude to Pooh, "Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." When you find yourself thinking about regret, focus on what you have learned from it as you are probably stronger than you seem.

Key To Success Lies In Positive Thinking

Photo: 4.bp.blogspot.com
"Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens."
- John H. Miller

All of us face problems in our lives. But positive thinking keeps us going and helps us overcome the challenges. Any situation when looked at from a positive perspective gives us strength to carry on and move beyond the limitations.

Take the case of Suzanne who always dreamt of being a ballet dancer. Suzanne would go to audition after audition after audition but never got selected. She kept worrying about other contestants being more talented than she was and what others might say about her performance … and this affected her performance.

Suzanne could not understand why, despite learning ballet for so many years, she was not able to land a good role which could justify her talent. She always thought that others could not see the real potential in her and felt unjustifiably overlooked. She did not realize that the real problem lay in her own doubts and apprehensions which were making her nervous.

Constant worry and negative thinking occupies the mind with fearful scenarios and blocks constructive ideas and thoughts. Just like Suzanne, there are a large number of such people who have the potential but because of their negative thinking they are unable to accomplish what they desire. Negative thoughts wear you down and make you less effective in achieving your goals and realizing your dreams.

Develop a habit of thinking positive

"Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will."
- Dr. Robert Anthony
If you want to achieve success in life, you have to let go of your negative thinking and work towards nurturing and believing in yourself and your positive thoughts which enable even ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things.

Remember what we are or what we become is the result of our own thoughts. When we have negative thoughts, we focus our energies on what we are not being able to achieve and fear of failure clouds our confidence. On the other hand when we make effort to think positively, our thoughts automatically become aligned with what we can accomplish and we feel confident about our capabilities.

But you have to keep in mind that attitudes do not change overnight. You have to consciously make efforts to develop that kind of positive frame of mind. What we speak and think form our future.

So instead of thinking all the time and saying 'I can't', 'I won't … say 'I can', 'I will', 'It is possible', and repeat these positive affirmations to your self again and again. And try to visualize the outcomes you desire in vivid detail. See them already complete and in their most perfect state. Imagine what it would feel like, and act as if it is already yours. The idea is to direct your positive thoughts for what you desire, and you will begin to attract into your life the circumstances necessary to manifest your dreams.

Being successful is very important for every college student or college graduate. It is the intrinsic need of human beings to gain recognition, dignity and success. However, in order to successful, one needs to be highly motivated. This is so because motivation gives one the inertia and the power to propel themselves towards success. However, motivation is important for success due to other reasons as well. Some of these are as follows:

1. Motivation serves as the basic start up:

Have you ever been forced to do some work that you don't like? How have you reacted to that work? Not that positively for sure! Now compare that work to some work that you like to perform. do you realize the difference in your attitude when you compare both of these tasks? Which one was accomplished quickly with a better work quality? Of course, the task you liked performing was performed way better. This is what motivation is. It serves as a start up so that you can get ahead with the work. The most difficult aspect of any task is to get it started, and once things get started, there is no looking back. Therefore, motivation is a key factor in making you get started on your way to success.

2. Motivation makes you keep moving:

When on the path of success, you are not always rewarded with success. One has to fall down many times before getting up and moving ahead. Obstacles, after all, are an integral part to make you stronger. It makes you worthy of your success. So, you have to be mentally prepared to face the tough work, the challenges and the problems in order to move ahead. So, you need to keep yourself motivated in order to keep pushing and going ahead.

3. Do something extra:

What is it that the successful do that we don't? We have always wondered about this and got no answer. It's what they do 'extra' makes them successful. Even if you have started up, moved one and faced challenges, you still need to push it beyond what your normal capacity is. Only then would you yield the fruit of success! Doing the necessary would get the job done anyway, so how about doing that extra bit, so that the task itself would boast about who has done it! Think about it!

4. It's boring without motivation:

Why do you take books to read or listen to music when going on a long journey? It is to make you feel fresh throughout the journey. Same is the case with motivation. The road to success is long, boring and tedious, but if you have motivation as your companion, then you need not worry about anything. Difficult times can be conveniently endured by motivation as being motivated ensures that you not only do it the right way, but also enjoy yourself as you go ahead.

So always feel motivated, keep your hopes high and look towards a brighter future.
