Opportunity Is Everywhere

By

Photo: cash-giftingprograms.com

Opportunity rarely breaks down your door, with a thunderous boom, to let you know that it is there. Dare to step outside of your comfort zone today and every day. Allow your mind to walk in new directions, where you can explore uncharted places and uncover new potential opportunities. Complacency is one sure fire way to stay stuck where you are.
Complacency will serve as your map to nowhere, learn to fight your natural tendency to always return to the safety of your comfort zone, when faced with adversity or challenges and extend yourself beyond what may be comfortable and convenient. Opportunity often lies in unfamiliar places, beyond where you feel comfortable, challenge yourself to explore these uncharted places and you will uncover the hidden connection to your success.
Commit to Lifelong Learning
You become an OPPORTUNITY ATTRACTOR, through the skills you acquire, the disciplines you practice, the positive attitude you project, language you use and by developing mutually beneficial relationships with the right people. Allow your reputation to precede you and you will see the light of new opportunity shine on you every day.
Action Idea: Commit to introduce the new success habit of daily learning and growth and a whole new world of possibility opens up to you. It is never too late to have a wonderful childhood. Rediscover the natural curiosity you exhibited as a child and become an "ACTIVE LIFE LONG LEARNER.
This opens up a world of possibilities for you, prepares you to fully exploit opportunities, continually expands your body of knowledge and includes the added bonus of living a longer and a better quality of life. Do you think something this beneficial and potentially life changing is something you would like to include in your journey through life?
Make Every Day Count
Although there appear to be 365 days in a year, in reality there are only as many days, as you actually make use of. Have the courage to put perceived failures behind you, build on the successes of the previous day and light the flame of opportunity and possibility, at the dawn of each new day. The secret to turn this into long term sustainable success is to simply repeat this, as often as possible. As you repeat this day after day, you will put new opportunity in your path. These opportunities can be converted into your reality, if you choose to apply yourself daily. Taking the right action, necessary to achieve the outcomes you desire.
Patience and Persistence
Never lose sight of the value of patience; it is a really powerful tool in your arsenal of success. It keeps you inspired and persistent, brings greater wisdom and perspective to all the challenges you will face and allows you to stay focused, so that you can see difficult, yet worthwhile, projects to completion.
Delay your Gratification
We have become such a now generation, expecting instant everything. Accept the concept of DELAYED GRATIFICATION, keep applying inspired action daily and anything you consistently apply yourself to achieving, becomes possible for you. Good things come to those who wait. Great things come to those that get off their butts and make things happen.

You Can Master the Art of Innovation

By

Photo: ajeva.com

We live in an ever changing world. Any casual observer can see that the pace of the change, we see all around us, is speeding up every day and so the best way to survive and to thrive, in this ever changing environment, is to commit to constantly innovate, evolve and grow.
Your commitment to consistent innovation is what will separate you from the followers and make you a true leader, path finder or trail blazer. You will become an achiever, who will stand out, someone who is a trend setter, rather than a trend follower. It is far better to be setting the standards of performance and achievement, which other people will follow than it is to be the person who is constantly trying to catch up.
Uncover how to Innovate once Again
Most of us are born creative and with an innate ability to innovate. At the age of two over 80 % of two year olds test as highly creative. By the time we reach the age of ten, only two percent of people test as creative and this then remains constant throughout our lives. What happens between the age of two and ten, which kills that creativeness and innovativeness in us? It is time to re-awaken your creative and innovative side and to start down the track of super achievement.
Innovation will help you in many ways:
  • Innovation is what will help you to create real meaningful and sustainable progress in your life.
  • Consistent progress is what will advance your life and business beyond the average.
  • Constant innovation will put you ahead of the competitive herd and the status quo.
Innovation has Become a Requisite for Super Achievement
Gone are the days where innovation was reserved for the select few, such as Einstein, Edison and the Wright Brothers. The ever increasing pace of change has made it imperative that everyone, who wants to succeed and excel, must become an excellent innovator or they risk being side-lined, to become just part of the herd or a very small spoke in the wheel of life.
Believe you can Innovate or you Never Will
Innovation is not an event, it is a process. You must first open your mind and believe that you have what it takes to be an innovator. Have the courage to make the crucial mind-set shift and change your beliefs and philosophy. Innovating must become a way of life for you. Make a commitment right now to stop looking at the world and only seeing what is. Make the shift and make a new commitment to look at the world and to constantly search for what could be or in fact should be.
Keep asking a better quality of question
The quality of your life and business is dictated by the quality of the questions you are asking. Learn the art of always asking explorative questions. Questions that will help you unlock possibility and to allow you to constantly flex you innovation muscle.
When you are a true innovator you constantly see the potential within yourself and others. You look for the opportunity for what could be in every event, situation, process, experience or outcome. You are committed to constantly serve, guide, help and solve.
Learn the Art of Observation and Take Action
To become a great innovator you must start by becoming an excellent observer. Study people, your environment, how people operate and live, what they want and need and what challenges they face. As you observe, constantly look for ways to add value to the world and the people around you. As important as it is to come up with new ideas, being creative is not being a true innovator. A true innovator is a person who takes action and makes things happen. They are real implementers of ideas and new strategies.
Innovation is a Doing Word
Creativity is thinking of new things, which will make a difference in the world. Innovation is implementing these changes and making a real and lasting difference to the world. True innovators go way beyond creativity and they become the people that transform people lives. They are the people that turn creative ideas into real and meaningful progress. Innovation is converting creative ideas into marketable products, which will make everyone's lives better.
When you make this shift in philosophy, you have the courage to once again unlock your creative side and you commit to become a true innovator. You will begin to see the world very differently and every challenge or opportunity, which crosses your path, will present you with new ideas and marketable concepts. These marketable products or services will have so much value that people will want to part with their hard earned resources to get their hands on them and to create meaningful and lasting mutually beneficial relationships with you and your business..

Are You Making Excuses or Making Progress?

By

Photo: sproutgeek.com

How would the world be if there weren't any murders or disease? Have you ever wondered what the world would be like if there wasn't any drug abuse, alcoholism and infidelity? What if the world was free of liars, politicians, and procrastination? Do you think the world would be a much better place?
Well, we all know the world is full of events that are considered unfortunate. Accidents happen. People are killed and murdered. People do abuse drugs and alcohol. Relationships suffer from infidelity, lack of communication and politicians lie.
People think the use of a gun will end there problems. Others think drinking in excess will solve their problems. Some think a needle will solve their problems. Many think plastic surgery will solve their problems. Some believe war will solve their problems. While others think hatred, spite, and vindication will solve their problems.
These actions and words do not solve problems. Love solves problems. Forgiveness solves problems. Being grateful solves problems. Sharing solves problems. Looking for the good or solutions, in every situation, solves problems. Encouragement solves problems. Giving solves problems.
It's OK, even important to identify your problems. What's an even better use of your time is giving your power, attention and focus to solutions. Spend more time and effort resolving issues instead of complaining about them. We've all heard the saying, "complaining never changed anything." Well maybe your blood pressure or relationship status.
Decide what you want and find someone who has proven they are successful at doing what you want to do and ask them for help. Find a mentor or coach and ask for assistance. Take responsibility for your life and spend most of your time improving and making progress instead of making excuses.
Become a part of a mastermind group. Surround yourself with other well to do individuals that can assist you in getting to the next level in your life. Then do the same for others. The best item you have to offer someone is your knowledge, time, kindness and love. You may have heard, "it's better to give then receive." But how can you give something you don't have.
Fill yourself up with love, caring, increase and abundance until it overflows. At that point, you have something to offer that everyone can benefit from. Decide what you are passionate about doing and share that idea with the world. The world needs your contribution.

How To Worry Less

By

Photo: 4.bp.blogspot.com

"A thousand worries fly over your head every day, it is only when they nest in your hair that you need to take action" Ancient Chinese Proverb.
Here are a few useful things that will help you worry less and keep those worry birds from nesting in your hair.
Some people worry more than others. And some of us seem to lurch from one worry crisis to the next in a perpetual fog of anxiety. The usual, and crushingly unhelpful advice for people who worry a lot is to stop worrying; "everything will be alright, just stop worrying." It's a bit like asking a nightingale to stop singing. It's what they do.
Here are a handful of useful things that will help you worry less:
Worry Diary and Worry Time
If you don't have the time or the inclination to leap off the deep end into full blown lifestyle changes perhaps keeping a worry diary and setting up worry time maybe what you need. This is a popular technique whereby instead of worrying about things as they come along, simply make a note of them somewhere safe, so that they are stored away and quite private. Designate a time at the end of every day for as long or as little as you want to go through your worry diary. You will find this achieves 2 things; it will allow you to record your worries without having to simply ignore them, which often creates anxiety and further worry, and secondly by the time you have sat down to go through your worry diary they wont seem as big as they did when they first came to you. This technique just puts you in a little bit more control.
People often find this a useful technique if they have busy timetables and can't afford to make bigger changes.
Cognitive Restructuring
This is a fancy name for thinking your way out of the forest of worries. It's a useful technique that comes originally from Existential Psychotherapy. Start by breathing deeply and steadily and examining your worries as if foreign objects from outer space. Hold them up to the light and recognize the fact that in 10 or 20 or even 50 years time your worries will be of little consequence. This is not to belittle you or your worrying but simply a useful exercise to put things back into proportion. Excessive worrying tends to do the opposite; it makes things bigger and more problematic than they actually.
Yoga and Meditation
Don't knock it until you've tried it. Many of our Counseling and Life Coaching clients decide to try one or both of these as a way of managing ongoing worries. If joining a beginner's class is not your thing, try forking out for a few individual lessons until you pick up a bit of confidence. Have a look at the link at the bottom of the page to see how people's lives have been transformed by making a few simple lifestyle changes. If worrying is what you do, get into yoga or meditation. I'd be surprised if it didn't help.
Lifestyle Changes
If Yoga and Meditation don't do it for you try some other form of lifestyle change. It maybe that joining a local kickboxing class, or a gardening group or reading circle or any other activity known to mankind might, just might, help to re-address the worry balance in your life.
These are just a handful of ideas and techniques to help decrease day to day worries. If you find yourself really wracked with worry and anxiety don't hesitate to get yourself some good professional help. There are many counselors and therapists who will be able to help.
Take a look at how Emese managed to overcome her worries and increase her self esteem and move from London to Kenya!

How to Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind

 By

Photo: billyjury.com

There are many different ways to overwrite the limiting or damaging messages that are stored in your subconscious mind.
You could work simultaneously with all of these strategies, but it will be much more effective if you pick just one or two methods to start. You want to give them your full attention, rather than skipping around and diluting your efforts.
Remember, you can always incorporate additional techniques over time, but it is recommended that you start with visualization.
Your subconscious mind responds well to pictures. Visualization is a great way to program your mind with positive, empowering images. Try spending 10-15 minutes a day visualizing positive scenes that feature you and your life experiences.
Here are some things you may want to visualize:
• An abundance of money
• A beautiful home
• Fulfilling relationships
• An expensive car
• Passionate work
• Exotic vacations
• A slender, fit body
• Anything else you wish to draw into your life
As you do this consistently, you end up redrawing the negative pictures stored from your past experiences, tears, worries, and doubts.
EXERCISE
1. Close your eyes quietly and take a deep breath - just fill your lungs with air, then exhale and relax. Breathe deeply and evenly and if you feel your breathing is rough and sharp, try to slow it down.
2. Breathe deeply and evenly. With each breath, imagine it is like a swing that flies up; and as you exhale, imagine the descent of the swing.
3. Mentally visualize the environment. You can be swinging anywhere: in a well-known garden, or in the one created by your imagination, or perhaps somewhere in the park. Maybe the swing is tied to a tree in an old garden. You can imagine that you are a child again, sitting on a swing, or perhaps you are swinging someone else; all the time breathing deeply. Imagine what you will see when you look up. In a cloudless blue sky, somewhere high above you, the plane is flying. The wings of the plane are flashing in the sun. You might hear the birds singing or the voices of children playing. Swings rise up and through the tops of trees and through the roofs of the buildings, in the distance, you can see the tower of the church.
4. Breathing deeply and evenly, you may experience the physical effect of gravity in the lower part of your back, in your neck, or in your shoulders. Sit quietly and breathe deeply. All the while, imagine that you are directly targeting the location of the gravity with the life giving oxygen you are inhaling. Imagine the oxygen is cleansing and treating you. As you continue your relaxation breathing, quietly, there is no longer any tension and you experience the feeling of gravity simply dissolve.
5. Do this for a few minutes until you feel relaxed. Next, start monitoring the way that your body feel. Start with your feet. Think of relaxing each toe on one foot, then your leg, then move to the other leg. Imagine you are so relaxed that you just feel your fingers, while you separate them, barely. At that time, your legs will be feeling heavy. Stretch your legs in a relaxed and careful manner. This will be peaceful. Continue to monitor the feeling of every muscle in your body, and consciously rest them. Feel your abdominal muscles, as they are flaccid as you quietly inhale and exhale. Be attentive to the rhythm of your breathing. It will have slowed down, as it should, just as it does every night before you fall asleep.
6. As you experience deeper relaxation, you will be conscious of feeling your heart beat. Relax your head muscles. Let all the muscles in your face, mouth and lips relax. The muscles in your neck and shoulders should be flaccid and at rest. And now, concentrate all the tension in your head, neck and shoulders flowing down through your hands and leaving your system, through the ends of your fingers. Your hands should feel heavy, as they are comfortably stretched and relaxed. Monitor the feelings in your hands and fingers for sensations of tingling, throbbing, pulsating, and heat or cold.
7. Be calm and quiet as you are breathing. Pay close attention to the feeling you are being encompassed by. Everyone's experience in this mesmerism will be different. While one person may feel how heavy their legs, hands, or whole body have become, another person may feel that they have become weightless and that they are floating in the air. You may feel as though your legs are fusible with other objects nearby or that they are tingling. Just know that as you are studying full relaxation, you will gradually become proficient at achieving this state of full relaxation quickly and easily. Make it a point to become familiar with your feelings and sensations when you are feeling relaxed. Pay attention to these body signals, because they will indicate when you have reached a level of relaxation; when your subconscious can communicate positive guidance and advice.
8. Now you can experience a positive sense of internal guidance and advice. Start with short simple sentences. Calmly tell yourself, "I'm relaxed. I had a great feeling. I am using self-hypnosis and thus I will improve my life." Repeat this a few times.
9. Spend a few minutes to enjoy the blissful state of complete rest. Meditate on yourself, intently. Think about the future, optimistically. Take a few moments to think about your past successes, from the moment when you first stood up, slipped, sat down and stood up again and thus learned to walk. Maybe you remember when you wrote your name for the first time, or you traveled by bicycle, or learned to swim. Maybe you remember your first day of school. Think of the many things that you have accomplished; from the time you were a two or three year old, when you first learned to speak and understand language.
10. Count slowly from five to one, then open your eyes and come back to reality. Look around at the room. Stretch well and celebrate the fact that you have achieved so much.
NOTE.
When you are engaging in self-hypnosis at night in bed, try not to escalate your emotions. In that way, you can simply go to sleep after the session.
Over the course of a few days, try to perform this exercise at least once a day. Make it a habit to do it intelligently. When you feel you can use your own words to overcome the problem, do it. This can give you self-confidence when you go into an interview for a new job. In this case, you could say: "I believe in myself. I'm determined to enjoy this experience. I will be quiet and moderate." Then imagine yourself behaving in the manner that you desire to, with a peace of mind and with self-confidence. Don't worry, you can experience quite a deep self-hypnosis, without any negative impact on your performance.
How to know if your reprogramming effort is working.
One of the most challenging aspects of reprogramming your subconscious mind is that you can't peek inside and see what's still there that might need to be changed!
Instead, you'll have to develop a strong sense of self-awareness so you can catch self-sabotaging behavior before it gets out of hand. Even so, there are still some clear signs of progress that you may recognize:
• You begin feeling stronger, more confident and happier.
• You find yourself more willing to take risks and face challenges.
• Your dreams and goals don't seem overwhelming anymore - just exciting.
• You feel a deeper sense of inner peace, as if inner conflicts are dissolving.
• You attract more opportunities to expand and grow in every area of your lite.
In short, you'll know when changes are taking place in your subconscious mind because you'll notice a shift in both your inner and outer being. The evidence is usually undeniable!
Consistent, Persistent Reinforcement!
It's important to give this reprogramming process time to work. Don't expect to see immediate changes (occasionally that can happen, but more often it takes time).
Be very consistent and persistent with the methods you choose, as you introduce more positive messages into your subconscious mind. As soon as these transformations become apparent, you'll feel motivated to keep moving forward, but until that happens, stick with it and know that these changes are lifelong, powerful and well worth waiting for.

Crucial Roles of Planning in Achieving Goals

 by

Photo: entrepreneur.com

Pursuing individual and organizational goals is unlikely to succeed without careful planning. Random, impulsive or reactive rather than pro-active actions will only lead to wasting money, time, effort and other resources. Careful planning will ensure that resources will be efficiently managed and will also allow individuals or organizations to anticipate possible obstacles. Both short-term and long-term goals require planning to facilitate their realization.

Plans are like geographical maps that show the overall view of a territory, whereby the routes can be plotted. Plans are far from being infallible or immutable but they can provide guides on the appropriate steps to take. Just like geographical maps, routes to a particular destination may vary and can be amended.
Road maps

Plans include a program of actions, allocation of resources, deadlines, and delegation of tasks. Plans are always aimed at achieving particular goals. Long-term goals will require more detailed and sophisticated planning that has intermediate steps. However, some room for flexibility should be included to allow adjustments in strategies when needed.

In some cases, it is necessary to have multiple plans that are intended for specific contingencies. Multiple plans can be arranged in terms of hierarchy of importance and based on the current circumstances. One general plan can be considered as a master plan while all others are mere contingency or alternative plans.
For example, a goal of starting a food cart business may have several business plans that could correspond to the available resources and based on anticipated demand or challenges. When the best suited plan is chosen, it has to be decisive but also flexible enough to allow some adjustments. Here are the general components of a plan.

Components
1.) Goal details - Goal setting actually precedes planning but specific goals should be incorporated in a plan. Otherwise, it will be an aimless plan. It has to follow the basic SMART criteria of being specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely or time-bound.

2.) Program of actions - This includes the step-by-step procedures of accomplishing the ultimate goals. Long-term goals can be subdivided into intermediate or short-term goals that ultimately lead to accomplishing the long-term goals.

3.) Allocating resources - Achieving goals is impossible without exerting efforts, dedicating time, spending money, and investing other resources. Allocating resources involves budgeting and scheduling. This will ensure that wasting resources can be avoided or at least minimized. Efforts can be more focused and efficient in this manner.

4.) Delegation of tasks - Even when it comes to individual pursuits of goals, delegation of tasks is important. It could refer to asking other people for help in accomplishing specific tasks. Since individuals cannot possibly become experts on everything, it may be necessary to ask others for help either for pro bono basis or for a fee.

5.) Anticipating challenges - Plans are incomplete without their predictive or forecasting aspect. Actions can be made more efficient if obstacles are anticipated. In this manner, an individual or an organization will not be overwhelmed when difficult challenges arise. Although not all contingencies can be predicted, it is still best to be prepared.

Being Motivated Everyday

By

Photo: 2.bp.blogspot.com

Regardless of what you do for a living staying motivated will always make the journey toward success more fun. It is almost impossible to achieve any worthwhile goal without staying motivated. Although, you may have precisely written goals and your plan of action is perfectly etched in stone, motivation will give you the energy to keep moving toward the finish line when you hit the rough spots on your success journey. In addition to staying energized, motivation increases your ability to stay focus and creative. Staying motivated is an essential element in goal achievement, but it is not always easy to keep the fires of excitement ignited, especially when things do not go as planned. The tips listed below will help you stay the course:
1. Always Use Positive Language - When a problem arises and you feel motivation dwindling, swearing, calling yourself or others negative names, or downing your project will only lessen the motivation you were feeling and attack your confidence. Recognize all problems as an opportunity to learn a better or different way of handling things. If you do slip up and blurt out something negative, immediately replace any negative phrases you used with positive ones.
2. Read Positive Phrases - Start and end each day by reading something positive. You might try reading a favorite verse from the Bible or go to the bookstore in your area and find a book of "positive quotes". Another great place to look is the internet. Simply Google "positive quotes" and you will find lots of options. Selfgrowth.com is a website that has self-help articles, positive and inspirational quotes, and inspiring video clips. There is no shortage of positive information, so keep it light and keep it positive, you will be glad you did.
3. Visualize Positive Results - No matter what your reality looks like, imagine that you have already achieved your goals and are enjoying the fruits of your labor. See yourself living a life that is perfect for you. Also, see yourself as a person of power and imagine that you have solved every challenge you encounter in any project. When you imagine a victory in every challenge, you will always have something to look forward to and to remind you why it is worth it to continue until you achieve your dream. When visualizing, be sure to think big.
4. Do Something to help someone else - Nothing can motivate you better than the joy you feel after you have done something to help someone who really needs you. A part of our reason for being is so we can help each other or give of ourselves when it is most needed. If helping someone else involves taking a brief break from your goals, do it. You may need that time to gain a different and refreshing perspective. Constantly taking, pulling or expecting others to give to you, can be a real downer when things do not go the way you expected and that kind of one track energy will not empower you to reach for your best. Take the time out to give of yourself and much more than you expected will find its way to you, automatically. You may find that burst of energy that you need to complete your project.
5. Dress Up - Sounds strange? Think back to when you were a kid. Remember, how good you felt when you wore a new pair of shoes, a new dress, or new slacks to school? Well, nothing has changed. No matter how old you are putting on your favorite outfit or purchasing something new (Don't go overboard,) will make you feel better about yourself. When you feel good about you, no matter how many challenges you are facing, you feel motivated to handle whatever life is bringing your way. Of course, simply putting on a new outfit may not erase the feeling that you have challenges to handle, but when you put on a new outfit somehow, it makes you feel more progressive. Creating a feeling that you are making progress is one of the keys to nurturing the desire to move forward and successfully finish whatever you have started.
6. Spend Time Around Positive People - When your motivation feels like it is dying down, one of the best ways to re-energize is to call your mentor. If you do not have one, take the time to find one. If you are open to receiving wisdom from others, finding a mentor will be easy. There is a saying, "When the student is ready the teacher will appear". If you truly need the kind of wisdom that can jumpstart you and put you back on track, then a mentor is available to you. However, until you find the right mentor, seek out other people who have a positive attitude. It is okay to borrow a little positive energy from others. This is one of those times when 'strength in numbers' could work for you. We all need a little re-charging every now and then.
7. Go Out and Have Fun - We spend so much time being grown-up and serious, until we forget to release the child within. We forget to have fun. Focusing on challenges can be a de-motivator and it can actually stifle your problem solving and creative abilities. When that happens it can be difficult to find the answers needed to get back on track. Taking a day to do nothing, but have fun will make you feel better and you will be surprised at how many solutions and new ideas come to mind. It is so important to lighten up and laugh as much as you can, because when all else fails, nothing charges your motivation battery like laughing and having fun!
Keep these ideas in mind as you work to achieve your goals and they will certainly make success come easier.
