It's easy to believe that life has a vendetta against us. When we believe that life is out to get us, suddenly everything goes wrong. But that's not true. Why would life spend all of its energy just destroying one person's life? It's not life that's out to get you, it's you that's out to get you.
Once you realize that it's through your own negative thinking that all of these bad circumstances happen, then there's a hope of improvement in your lifestyle. The power of positive thinking is emphasized over and over through many of the greatest self-help books, and through what some call the "Law of Attraction". But let's not get into the Law of Attraction. Let's just focus on improving your outlook on life.
Here are three ways that are easy to start with.
1. Get a "gratitude" rock
A gratitude rock is just a normal rock, but what it does is remind you to think of something that you're grateful for every time you see it. You keep it in your pocket at all time, and every time you see it, whether your drop it or are emptying out your pockets, you have to think of at least one thing you're grateful for. That's it. Believe it or not, just this small step can immediately change your outlook on life into a more positive light.
2. Delete the word "can't" from your dictionary.
Every time you say the word, "can't", you are inhibiting yourself from being something greater. "Can't" just translates to laziness. Who are you to tell yourself that you "can't" do something? Who is anyone to tell you that you "can't" do something. No one, not even you, knows that. And with people landing on the moon and turning lightning into an power source, there's not much support backing up what you "can't" do. Give it a shot, and try and try again until you "can" accomplish whatever it is that you can accomplish. Failure is just the first step to success.
3. Focus on what you want rather than what you don't want
You're probably used to spending all your time focusing on things you don't want... like bills. But the more you focus on the things you don't want, the more depress and lethargic you're going to get. Why not focus on the things that you do want, like a bigger TV, or a lot more money. Now the trick to this is once you envision more money or that new gadget, don't think of all the ways you can't get it. Don't focus on how financial strapped you are because that'll ruin the whole point of step 3. If you just focus on what you want without any "can't, won't, buts", then you'll feel a sensation of joy. It's euphoric. The big emphasis is not focusing on what you don't want. When that happens, magic happens, and suddenly your mind comes up with ways on how you can get what you want without too much of a hassle.
Just follow these three steps and you'll have a much more positive attitude on life. With that positive attitude, a positive change will come into your life.
