What are you thinking about? Right now. What are the thoughts running through your mind? What you are thinking about is your reality.

Change your thoughts, and you can change your life.

Many times we think in a negative way. We think about what we don’t want, and then wonder why we don’t get what we claim we do want.

Here are some examples:

You think, “I am so broke. I am fat. I am out of shape. My job sucks.”

And you know what? You stay broke, fat, out of shape, and in a job you hate.

In order to turn things around and move your life toward the place where your dreams can come true, you need to change your thoughts.

Instead of, “I hate being broke,” you can change your thinking to, “I am glad I have enough money.”

Instead of, “I am fat,” you can change your thought to, “I am so happy I am choosing to live in a healthier way.”

Here’s the fun part: You don’t have to believe it right away! All you have to do, in the beginning, is to start the process of changing the self-destructive talk that has been going on for a really long time. This is the talk that got you to an unhealthy place.

Once you start changing the way you talk to yourself, you will notice how often you have been doing it.

Pay attention to your thoughts.

Sometimes we have been talking to ourselves in this negative way for so long, we don’t even notice it.

Start noticing.

Pay attention to what you focus on.

If you realize that you focus more on the negative than the positive, it will start to make more sense to you as to why you don’t seem to get what you want.

Do you make a lot of excuses for why things are the way they are?

Negative thinking again.

Change your thoughts and enjoy the feelings of success that will follow.

You don’t have to worry about how you will change your behavior.

Once you start changing your thoughts, the behavior will take care of itself.

You start thinking, “I have enough money,” and you will find yourself budgeting smarter and making wiser purchases.

You start saying, “I am happy that I am eating in a healthy way,” and you will start noticing healthy items on menus that you never knew were there.

Once you start changing your thoughts, your brain will work on making these ideas come true.
After practicing this technique for awhile, it will get easier and you will think of more positive statements you can say to yourself. And when you see the results, you will be encouraged to keep it up. Positive thoughts will lead to positive changes.

You can change your life by changing your thoughts. Try it.
“How often – even before we began – have we declared a task ‘impossible’? And how often have we construed a picture of ourselves as being inadequate?... A great deal depends upon the thought patterns we choose and on the persistence with which we affirm them.”
